I'm finally releasing a version of OpenNetAdmin. It's still very much a work in progress but it should still perform much better than a spreadsheet! Latest Release:
PLEASE backup your data before upgrading older versions to this latest version. There are a few required data updates done this time. They have been tested and should be fine but I just want to make sure you do a backup first.
This new version introduces a new menu dialog. It should dynamically scale better for plugins etc. It is hopefully easier to navigate than the old one. I have done extensive testing on multiple browsers to try and get it to work properly. I'm sure however that we'll find other issues with it. Please let me know of any problems you encounter with the new menu.
Please note that when adding your first host you will encounter a message like
ERROR ⇒ This operation tried to create a PTR record that is the first in the 10.0.0.0 class A range. You must first create at least the following
DNS domain: 10.in-addr.arpa. You could also create domains for class B or class C level reverse zones.
This simply means that you are adding a dns name for the first time that requires a reverse zone (PTR). It will automatically open the add domain dialog or you can go to “Menu→Edit→Add
DNS domain”. The easiest way is to take the first octet of the IP you are adding (in this case 10) and create a domain called 10.in-addr.arpa.
