Hey Timm,

Well its been awhile, hope things are well.. Finally getting around to trying to fix a few bugs!!.

I just want to make sure I understand the issue here.?

I believe what you are saying is that if you add a new host and fill it out so the hostname= host.sub and a domain of example.com then it allows you to add it even though sub.example.com is not a valid domain in the system?

If that is what you are referring to, then that is actually by design. Normally I would only want people to use hostnames without dots.. but sometimes its needed so I allow it to be done. This means all that needs to exist is the domain portion even though the true "subdomain" portion of the FQDN may not exist in the database.

Anyway, just wanted to finish out this bug report.

Thanks!

Hi Matt,

things are very well! I hope at yours too?

I don't know if it is really a bug. Even I don't remember the exact conditions when this happens but ONA creates a glue record.

May I have some free time next week to think about it again. Catch ya via IM.
